This document details a novel deduplication strategy within lucidRAG, a software project focused on extracting evidence segments from documents, images, and structured data. The system employs a two-phase approach, initially extracting candidate segments, then evaluating their informational value, and finally retaining only the strongest representatives, minimizing redundancy and maximizing signal preservation.
