Digg, a one-time rival to Reddit, is launching a new open beta to the public on Wednesday, offering a website and mobile app for browsing communities and joining interest-based groups. The company, backed by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and Digg founder Kevin Rose, acquired the platform last March through a leveraged buyout. The launch is intended to capitalize on AI’s potential to address social media toxicity and build new tools for content licensing.
